The West African Hub on Climate Change Learning
The West African Hub is a platform to foster the sharing of country experiences developing and implementing national climate change learning strategies and to promote climate change learning. This platform is part of the framework for the implementation of Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) and the Doha work programme on Article 6 of the UNFCCC in accordance with Article 12 of the Paris Agreement.
Together with our regional partner, the AGRHYMET Regional Centre, we are developing a range of activities to support learning among professionals from government departments and agencies, civil society, research and academic institutions, and the private sector in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Chad, Cote d’Ivoire, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, and Togo.
Our West African Hub’s activities include:
- Running capacity building, training and experience sharing workshops on climate change-related topics;
- Developing e-learning modules, resources on climate change adapted to the West African context;
- Identifying priority issues for the region and relevant funding mechanisms; and
- Supporting the development of project proposals for climate change learning.
